WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED TO THE MOVIE?!?!??..DIRTY HANDS FUNDRAISER

harry kim will now answer all your questions, please don't ask me anymore, what's going on with the movie
i live in a cave , i don't know anything, i live in my own cartoon porno universe shrouded in a a safe bubblicious bubble flavored with, denial, stupidity, and ignorance.

message from harry kim:
Dirty Hands has been on a seven year journey, starting back in 2000 with several different directors behind the helm, while picking up more seriously over the last four years. Since then I’ve been working, whoring, begging, and borrowing to finish the film. I’ve maxed out eight credit cards and have to pay $1000 a month just to keep from defaulting. I’m also enrolled as a half time student at community college so I don’t have to make payments on school loans. And my income is so low that the state offers these classes to me for free. Yes I’m so poor that I get free community college classes.

But now the edit is done, basically the movie is almost done, i'm at the finish line, all of my resources are out, and the movie still needs money to finish(mixing, sound editing, music rights, animation, color correcting, L.A. riots footage , etc.). I’ve never wanted to ask Dave for anything financially in the making of the film since I wanted to make an honest documentary. Dave also thought that would be best. So, while Dave and I have been friends from childhood, his career has been taking off during the making of the documentary while I have been going further into debt and I refused to take money from Dave(not to actually help finish the movie , but to have it destroyed, in the last 4 years , dave has offered half jokingly, to dead seriously offer to buy my movie, only to have it destroyed so no one ever see's it). But as a good friend, Dave wanted to help me out, so at this point I finally asked for it. We put our heads together and Dave decided he would generously donate a painting to the cause. The film will take only what it needs to finish from the proceeds.

One of Dave’s 3ft by 3ft paintings from his SKRUNCHFACE series, immediately post jail, made back in 2004, it's oil, housepaint, and spray paint , coated in layers of polyurethane on canvas, with a thick black wood frame. I have offered it up to the films investors, currently i have an offer for 15 grand from New York City(a painting from this same series just sold for over 50 grand in san francisco), unless i have any other offers, starting on Saturday December 15 up till December 22, the beginning of winter solstice, i will go with this offer, please post your bids to info@dirtyhandsmovie.com. If you purchase this painting, it will carry the added significance of being the painting that finished the movie. Your help is greatly appreciated.

message from dave choe: thank you to the gentleman from D.C. that purchased the painting i had in the oakland fundraiser for the kids, you saved the fucking kids, we were all kids once, we were all fucked up, now they have someplace to go, thanks.

EVERYBODY WANTS TO RULE THE WORLD

Everyone I know that has a lot of money and stupid boring fucking safe lives keeps telling me what to do with my money like smart wise shit like ,buy real estate and shit, and all I got to say back is what James Van Der Beek said in that football movie” I don’t want your life.” I really don’t , my life is fucking awesome, and I’m young dumb and full of cum , fuck it, kill it, fingerbang it, burn it all down to the ground, making art, making music, making love, making war, making shits wherever I go, where I lay my head is home, I’m my own worst enemy just like the song I’m sleeping with my clothes on, self destructing at every turn its my most favorite thing to do, I come back even stronger every time, I sound like a fucking idiot because, I am, I CAN’T COME DOWN, I WON’T COME DOWN, I CAN’T BE LEFT ALONE, becuz I don’t know how to act, becuz I don’t give a fuck and I don’t even care, but sometimes I care too much, reborn rebirth replacable redemption , I ‘m out on the run looking for some fun and tomorrow I’m gonna do it all over again, I never fucking learn, you just live life now, spend the money ,take chances ,what are you fucking waiting for? tomorrow may never come.. so knowing all that about myself I made the best decision and smartest investment I ever made in my life, check out my new wheels, yes it's got suicide doors beeeeyotch!I don’t even own a home and rent in a shitty part of downtown… don’t worry I still have the mini van .. OAKLAND TO MIAMI AND THEN THERE'S THE FUCKING KIDS

I learned traditional Korean drumming when I lived in Oakland, years ago, so when KYCC had their 20 year anniversary at the Oakland asian culture center, I went down to support, little did I know I was gonna get bombarded by the fucking kids. Here’s how the dialog went down in the e-mails after I met the lady in charge. (I’m putting this here so everyone that contacts me for their group shows can see where I stand on this, and just because I softened on this one , doesn’t mean I’m gonna do anymore, and even though I don’t steal anymore I still have the robin hood spirit, If you need money for a charity or a good cause, go steal it)

Hello Mr. David Choe,
I am following up with you to make sure you will be donating some of your art pieces for our First Ever Korean American Artist Showcase and Gallery Walk, December 8th, at OACC. Your commitment to the youth and the program will change the whole dynamic of the event. We will get more people to attend and I think artists will bring forth their best work because you will be supporting the program. We are so excited to have you support our program and we are all every excited that you will help save our youth program!!! Please let me know if you need anything before the event. Here is the new flyer featuring you. I am looking forward to hearing from you soon.-thanks CJ

hey cj it was nice to meet you
i hope i wasnt too much of an asshole
but i 'm just being honest, i usually hate these kinds of events,
i hate group shows, i hate being associated with other artists just
cuz we're korean, i hate cheesy grafitti hip hop letters and dancing
anyways now that you know where i'm coming from, i do love the kids
and i want you to know i'm only doing this because i like anna kim's
art i think she has the potential to be great one day,
and i don't want korean kids in oakland to have nowhere to go.
i'm gonna finish one big 4 foot by 4 foot painting tomorrow you guys
can come by next week to pick it up, i live in san jose,
i'd bring it up myself but i dont have any time right now.
Thanks

In the end the faces of all the under privelleged Oakland youths won me over I’ll be donating one 4 foot by 4 foot painting to help support the cause
(see the work in progress below, it’s title IDIOT FART TRIES TO OPEN A JAR OF KIM CHEE ) to find out more about this event please contact

THUMBS UP SEASON#2!!! WE’RE BACK BITCHES!!

I always thought I was regular , I’d shit 3 maybe 4 times a day, I noticed after the stress of filming the first season of thumbs up, and the stress of playing high stakes black jack that I started to shit on average 6 to 7 times a day , I asked my mother yesterday if this was weird, and you know what she said to me? “SON you are perfect!” so I guess I’m better than regular, I’m perfect !!! all I can say though is , it’s a fucking miracle with that many days on the open road for season 2 with my IBS, I didn’t shit my pants once! I had many close calls but my bowels prevailed, I personally think this season is 100 times better than last season , I hope you enjoy, new episodes will go up every Monday!!

SPRAY PAINT DREAMS COME TRUE

Almost two years ago , I went to Barcelona with SABER for a two man show at the original Montana spray paint store, it was unfuckingbelievable, SABER Who is a real life graffiti superhero, in between having epileptic seizures and bombing spain, stopped a purse thief with full spray can and the next night stomped in a wife beaters head, he’s my hero. Another hero of mine is Jordi! He owns and runs the Montana spraypaint factory and is so full of life and energy, he’s like Charlie in Charlie and the chocolate factory , on the night of our show he gave me and SABER a new prototype black that’s supposed to go over silver and metallics better, And gave us his blessings to try it out on streets of Barcelona!?!? Who the fuck was this guy?!?Where did he come from?!?! It was like a Spanish graffiti fantasy , we killed that night, the next day we went to the factory where the entire building is painted by OS GEMEOS and inside the factory workers make every single can by hand, while Jordi BBQed for us, I wanted to jump into the vats of bright colors! Anyways I guess this is the equivalent of a basketball player getting his own shoe, next year Montana will be honoring me and SABER by giving us our own CAN!!!(I’m not sure of the realease date) they will be made in a limited run, for my can I picked the silent dance painting and picked the color "JUNGLE GREEN"(it was a discontinued krylon color from my childhood and was highly sought after) fuck ,life is so unreal sometimes, I got my own car, my own wine, my own paint, what’s next?

Giant Robot Biennale LA, November 3, JANM

i have 12 cans of black spray paint and plan to paint one of the best murals ever in L.A. tomorrow
at The Japanese American National Museum.

here's the official press release.(i just did the cover for giant robot's 50th issue, a skateboard will be made for the occasion, and i'm gonna do this sick mural, murakami's having his retrospective next door, so it should be cool.)

GIANT ROBOT TO KICK-OFF JAPANESE AMERICAN NATIONAL MUSEUM
NEW SERIES WITH GIANT ROBOT BIENNALE: 50 ISSUES ON NOV. 3

LOS ANGELES.—The Japanese American National Museum will begin a new series of collaborative exhibitions entitled Salon Pop by presenting Giant Robot Biennale: 50 Issues, developed in collaboration with Eric Nakamura of Giant Robot and running from November 3, 2007 through January 13, 2008. The exhibition is being sponsored by the Imprint Culture Labtm, with additional support from the James Irvine Foundation. An opening reception is being planned for November 3, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the National Museum in Little Tokyo.

Celebrating its 50th issue, the pop-culture magazine Giant Robot is proud to curate the Giant Robot Biennale: 50 issues, featuring artists with whom they have worked in the past, whether in the pages of the magazine or in the associated gallery spaces in Los Angeles, San Francisco, or New York City.

Giant Robot has helped to transform the landscape of the boundaries of art, often working with brand-new artists (some still in art school). Many have gone on to great success and present their art around the world, while others are in a more modest state, paying the rent with art-related projects such as commercial work and consumer products. The latter is nearly a constant theme among the artists; each has delved into making products of some sort, and has built a following in a side-discipline although art is his or her primary focus.

The Biennale’s works will range from Pryor Praczukowski's cinematic photography to David Choe's graffiti-like murals. The pieces in between include panels by leading indie-comics artist Adrian Tomine and the pop culture inspired works of Seonna Hong, Gary Baseman, APAK, Souther Salazar, and Saelee Oh. Sashie Masakatsu's oil paintings reflect the nostalgia of pop culture-influenced youth while Eishi Takaoka's sculptures can dominate a room with their meditative presence.

“The Japanese American National Museum is pleased to work again with Eric Nakamura on Giant Robot Biennale: 50 Issues,” stated Irene Hirano, National Museum President and CEO. “We honored Eric and Giant Robot at our 2006 Annual Dinner and Eric worked as part of our advisory committee for Landscaping America: Beyond the Japanese Garden.”

“This show also represents another step for our institution in reaching out to younger audiences. A grant from the James Irvine Foundation has allowed us to gather information that indicates that community and arts organizations like the National Museum need to develop new approaches and innovative content if they hope to be relevant to each new generation. We believe working with Eric Nakamura and Giant Robot will help us accomplish this.”

This exhibition is the first in the Salon Pop series that includes collaborative displays that focus on Asian American pop culture. As the art world changes and begins to make room for the works of artistic innovators-many of whom were formerly labeled as street artists, graphic designers, or illustrators-under a newly evolved definition of fine art, popular culture has enthusiastically embraced this genre. It has been through this art, with its influences from Asia, that Americans are being introduced to a new concept of what it means to be Asian or Asian American. Giant Robot, the Japanese American National Museum, and the Imprint Culture Lab are working together to reveal the evolution of this sub-culture with this exhibition.

About the Curator
Giant Robot magazine began in 1994, as a staple-and-fold zine and has now grown into a full-fledged bi-monthly magazine, which is available at most stores and newsstands. Giant Robot opened its first store in 2001, and formulated a combination of pop culture goods, ranging from Japanese import toys, graphic design and art books, and monthly art exhibitions. Giant Robot has since opened stores and galleries in San Francisco and New York City and even has a restaurant called gr/eats in West Los Angeles. Curating this exhibition is the publisher/co-editor and owner, Eric Nakamura who curates most of the 36 exhibitions Giant Robot puts on annually in each of the three cities.

soundwave disappointingly was not in the new transformers movie because he's

vocal cords got ripped by shrapnel when he rescued his girl SCARLETT, so
that severely limit's what songs he can sing at keroke, but that doesn't stop
him from rocking out to the jams. since all he can fit is one tape into
soundwave, snake eye's is up all night making a mixtape :

Hi folks. This is Jimmy. Just a few more details about the print:

Once again this is a limited edition of 76. They are printed on 19" x 25"
sheets of dark brown french paper. The stencil layer is almond colored gloss
spray paint. The screened layers are blue and violet waterbased inks. The
two random albino prints have gold colored dust screened in place of the
blue color. All prints are hand numbered, titled, stamped and signed.

If you are one of the fast and lucky few to respond to this email, I will
reserve a print for you in the order I receive the replies.
Unless you receive a response back from me confirming your print and
instructions on how to pay, please DO NOT jump the gun by sending me money
in advance. These people will be promptly refunded. Best of luck to
everyone. Thanks for your enthusiastic support. We hope you like what we've
done.

-jc

P.S. The main reason for this venture is to provide relatively cheap
original prints for fans and collectors. If you are in this to flip it and
make a quick profit and I catch you, you will go onto my shitlist.
And if I ever meet you in person, you better fucking run.

IT's almost over!!!! beside's
VBS.TV
i guess you can watch my show thumbs up! on myspacetv, youtube, and yahoo now
so that's fucking awesome, i think this next wednsday might be the final episode for season one,
but guess what , me and harry just got back from the north pole and finished filming THUMBS UP! 2!!, we hitched , hiked, and hopped from tiajuana to alaska, and the trip ended with the film crew having a mutiny against me . anyways it's only gonna be like ten thousand times better than the first season. who know's when they'll be edited, it would be cool if they put all the episodes on one dvd, with a picture book or some shit , anyways, here's some flicks of how fucking awesome season 2,is gonna be, plus two older episodes off youtube.

fucked SIDEWAYS....

don't get high off your own supply.
one of the most fucked up things from the time i was a starving artist till even today is.
people are cheap, they don't value art and they don't want to pay for it.
for the first 5 years in my career i worked for little or nothing and was more than happy, about even getting a job.
the fucked up part is, when i'm working for free for a magazine or a record cover or whatever, it would be cool to get a complimentary copy sent to you since, i'm not getting anything else that's helping with the rent. the people that don't hook it up
are scumbags and assholes. half the magazine's i've done illustrations for .i've never even seen the final result in print. and i like print. i like touching stuff. so that sucks for me, anyways one of the worst offenders is bonny doon(i hate to plug them ,but it's bonnydoonvineyard.com), they are a wacky winery in california that has artist's like ralph steadman and gary taxali making thier labels, over two years ago they hired me to paint live for one of thier private wine parties, and it was cool ,they paid me and that was it, cut to two months ago, hanging out with my friend andrew and he cracks open a bottle of choe wine?!??!? what the fuck?!? the dude's had taken a photo of what i painted that day, two years ago and made a wine using my art, and never even fucking told me about it, anyways they're fuckers for doing that, but they ended up paying me and sending over a couple cases of wine, the best part is they even spelled my name wrong on the bottle.

try to find a bottle it's impossible to find.

TRAINS

I’ve hopped freights over the rockies , through the swamps of the south , bridges over the Mississippi , but one of the most breathtaking rides is the line going up California to the pacific northwest, I made sure we got a boxcar with both sides open because the ocean is on the left and majestic forests and mountain ranges are to the right . the thing people don’t know about California is ,once you get north past sacramento, it’s some of the shittiest meanest racist mother fuckers on the planet, worse than the dirty south. Along these tracks before I took this picture 3 dirty white kids followed us on bikes, our faces were black and purple because we were shoving blackberries in our mouths from a bush near the tracks, they started throwing rocks at us and called us nigger pies! We asked them where their parents were, dad’s dead and mom’s at home fucking a nigger. They thought my white friends were cute and that me and my jap friend were the color of pee and wondered how we were able to see with such small eyes. I admit I was pretty steamed and said some very hurtful racist things back, when you see a grown up in a racist shouting match with an 8 year old girl, you know life is rad!

TRAIN HOPPERS

my 3 buddies plus me makes 4, nobody thinks 4 dudes hitchhiking on the side of the road will ever get picked up. But we did, once by a guy with aids that begged us during the ride if he could suck any one of our dicks, he told joey he had dick sucking lips, and we all almost puked. After we got grossed out we hopped trains from L.A. to Eugene ,Oregon. This train wasn’t going very fast, so I was able to take the dramatic flick and then jump back on, it wasn’t a very good idea because the trains can pick up speed pretty fast, when jumping for a train use tremendous upper body strength to pull yourself up , if not it can rip your arm out the socket. we were all 23 years old in this picture ,the last summer before we all moved to different parts of America to find wives and jobs.

DRUMZ

a lot of bands have two guitarists, one dude keeps the flow and rhythm like izzy and one dude fucking shreds and melt s your brain like SLASH . why doesn’t this concept cross over to drums, drums are fucking rad, marching bands are fucking rad, every band should have one ringo and one Zach Hill, almost every band that has two drummers fucking shreds! SLIPKNOT,And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead, The Feelies, PAVEMENT, Genesis,The Allman Brothers, and Most Motown releases feature two drummers in the backing band. This is my band the KOREANS GONE BAD, we have 16 drummers.

KIM

the KIM’s rocked my world, not the Koreans down the street, but kim Gordon and kim deal, before the kim’s came along it was all AXL. But since the kim’s came along it’s been impertive that any band I’ve ever been in has to have a female singer to balance out the testosterone.start the song with a fuzzy david carradine clip from roadside prophets come in with a little feedback, pound in an awesome breakbeat, keep it at mid tempo rock , with a bitchin drummer, a dude screaming in pain , and a girl with an angelic voice singing over him telling him it’s gonna be ok . I just basically wrote you a recipe for musical extacy and the perfect formula for band drama.(breeders-little fury, sonic youth- JC) these girls are all in KGB and all our songs sound like “where is my mind” by the pixies

AA

I was going through a hard time in my life, and I was taking it out on society through vandalism and graffiti, fucked up girls become strippers and whores fucked up boys become thieves and vandals. I turned the corner and saw men and women of all shapes and colors chain smoking and drinking coffee in the parking lot, I asked harry what’s that building? he said that’s Alcoholics anonymous . I started to get angry and self righteous, but then when I was painting this I was laughing the whole time. Because I was drunk.

TOMMY’S STORE

Perpetrating the stereotype, my cousin tommy is a Korean liquor store owner.Unlike the movies and songs, the blacks that frequent tommy’s, shop have no desire to see his store burn down or see him dead. In fact they love him and his brindled pitbull “TAI” which he got off a crackhead in the parking lot, for a pack of smokes. He know’s his regulars by first name and knows what brand of cigs they all smoke. Tai keeps a fierce one eye on the register and another one,on would be shoplifters. Pay for the funyons or get splashed with the tech
